About Loren Katafono

I am a social worker by trade with years of experience in the domestic, family and sexual violence sector. My hope as a practitioner is to work with victim-survivors, in line with trauma-informed principles and follow their lead towards their version of (r)empowerment. Throughout my studies, I worked as a Legal Administrator at Patrick Grimes & Co. Solicitors. My socio-legal experience led me to my graduate role as a Domestic and Family Violence Worker at Marrickville Legal Centre. Soon after, I joined Northern Sydney Sexual Assault Service as a casual After-Hours Counsellor on their crisis roster. My current role at Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand's Financial Independence Hub is as a Senior Practitioner Financial Coach. I support people recovering from financial abuse, supervise our NSW coaching crew and work with our leadership team to deliver our strategic priorities. In my downtime, you can find me playing music, podcasts or TV shows back-to-back, as well as dining, dancing or playing social sports with my loved ones!
