Background
About Lorena Barron
Hard worker, bilingual, and open minded are just a few skills that I have gained throughout my college and working career. I am very passionate in lending a helping hand to my community especially when it comes to the youth community or anyone in need. I have my own dance group in the Cicero community where I teach Mexican Folkloric dances to children, teens, and adults. This program is opened to anyone who is interested in learning about Mexican folk dances. While learning to dance the dance students also learn different coping skills and have a safe space where they can reach out for help. While working at different daycares I have gained so many great skills. I have learned great communication skills while talking to parents and children of different cultures. I focused a lot in finding different recourses for families who were in need of assistance when Covid-19 had started. As well as helping domestic violence survivors seek the help that they needed. While working as a lead teacher I was responsible to open the site and set up the classrooms. Greeting the families and children in the mornings was such a rewording experience seeing how excited the children were to come to school. As well as seeing the parents smiling and feeling comfortable leaving the children in our hands. I have learned so much with working with different age groups of children. Learning their unique personalities and making them feel comfortable with who they are. It is a wonderful experience being able to work one on one with the children and families. Making a difference in someone’s life is very rewarding and it inspires me to do my best to help by learning more great skills. If you have any questions, please contact me via email or by phone.
