4 years ago I had to make the toughest call in my life to date and hang the boots up from my professional footballing career Not by choice, but a career ending knee injury My whole life, my identity, and path was laid out for me All I was known in my family, my friend groups, my external circles and what I went by was "Lorena - the footballer" How's football going? Where are you playing next? What's next in your football career? It was solely football football football (which at the time I wasn't complaining) Elite sports high school, semi-professionally and professionally Training 3x a day, getting 1 day off on a Saturday It was my life and I didn't know anything else So to say I was at a HUGE crossroads in life when I had to say goodbye to that was an understatement Now what? I sat there and thought I received a call from a recruiter who helps current & former professional athletes get into sales & recruitment roles He goes "You'd be good at recruitment, give it a go" I didn't even know what recruitment was. But hey, I gave it a crack Now here I am over 4 years later forging my career in the recruitment & sales space! Agency recruitment for almost 2 years and internally for 2 Both in Australia and now living across the world and working in London I’m not your quote-on-quote typical recruiter either. I strive to be one of the most genuine & authentic recruiters out there. Every conversation I have with people. I want it to be a unique approach, all about you & what problems you're facing I’m passionate about talking to you. finding out what you're not getting & seeing if I can provide a solution to help. So all in all. I am a recruitment & football fanatic and will talk your EAR off about either.
