About Lorena Piticco

I studied chemistry at ETH Zurich. I soon realized that I was at least as fascinated by physics as I was by chemistry. During my subsequent research for my doctorate at ETH Zurich and during a post-doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley, I specialized in molecular physics, working on high-resolution molecular spectroscopy and investigating fast molecular processes using laser spectroscopy. I have been working at Isler & Pedrazzini AG since 2013. After my admission as a European Patent Attorney in 2017 and my entry in the Swiss Patent Attorney Register in 2018, I obtained the diploma "Patent Litigation in Europe" from the University of Strasbourg in 2022, which qualifies me to represent clients directly before the Unified Patent Court of the EU. In patent matters, I feel at home in diverse areas of mechanical engineering, consumer goods and sensor technology. In addition, I of course continue to be interested in chemistry and related fields, and I have also gained a wide range of experience in design law. Since 2018, I have been passing on my knowledge of patent, trademark and design law in lectures at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland (OST) in St. Gallen.
