Hello! My name is Lorenzo Nell, it's lovely to make your acquaintance. I’m a second-generation Latin-American, looking to empower my community to pursue fulfilling technical careers and to help close the current opportunity divide within our workforce. Day-to-day title: Chief of Getting Things Done Daily!(CGTDD) I am The calm during the storm. I am a lifelong project management geek who takes great pleasure in processes that makes everyone’s working life better. I believe that excellent communication makes up about 90% of successful projects. The other 10 percent is a melange of fostering great relationships with my partners and my team and that process thing I mentioned a second ago. Getting things done is just the tip of the iceberg! I have a passion for public speaking and sharing stories. Growing up in Texas in a disadvantaged home and journeying across the US to California due to a medical emergency, I have had to overcome many challenges. I have successfully faced every obstacle, going from being a stock boy to having my own personal styling business, from completing my Eagle Scout project to working with NASA engineers on safety technology. My strengths include providing great customer service, problem-solving, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. I believe innovation and exploring the world are the best ways to better it.(A fun fact about me is that I completed high school online in 9 months.) I recently left my position as a Project Management Consultant at Silicon Valley Bank and am now looking for new opportunities. Previously I graduated from Year Up. Year Up is an organization that enables young adults to meet the demands of the nation’s top corporations. Through my time at Year Up I’ve worked on various technical and interpersonal skills. I will always be a student of life, looking to expand my knowledge and be an asset to my future teams and organizations. Life is a wave and you can either ride it or be swept up in it. Ride the Wave!
