About Lori Douce

I am an experienced School Counselor for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction with 16 years of experience providing academic and career counseling services to justice-involved adult students. As a school counselor for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, I have extensive experience gathering data and writing reports regarding student test scores, student attendance data, transcript analysis data, and student behavioral data. These reports are submitted to my supervisor for review and submitted to the Operations Support Center for data collection. I am a member of the Educational Intervention Assistance Team where we discuss behavioral interventions to use with students and possible treatment referrals for students struggling in the classroom. I provide direct service delivery to all incoming residents at the facility through institution orientation where I explain the educational opportunities available to students within DRC. I also serve as the education spokesperson to provide students with work direction during pre-release evaluation meetings. In a previous role, I served as an adjunct instructor for the Sociology 1200 course for PSEO and college-level students at Marion Technical College. I facilitated classroom instruction regarding sociological theories and concepts to students. I maintained a weekly record of attendance utilizing the web-based program Blackboard. I also evaluated all student work completed including exams, worksheets, web-based assignments, and class activities. In addition to the above-mentioned work experiences, I completed the Educational Leadership Program through Ashland University and earned my School Principal License in November 2022. Throughout my internship experience, I was able to practically apply supervisory skills to education staff. I utilized my supervisory skills by assigning and delegating tasks, resolving work problems, and conducting annual employee evaluations.
