About Lori Dunlap

Strategic planning is my superpower. Project plans and lists are my tools. Curiosity is my fuel. I am happiest when I’m helping others pursue their dreams. Sometimes this happens in the context of one-on-one sessions with young adults applying to college or planning careers. Other times it happens at at a higher level, when I am analyzing and advising on education and youth behavioral health policies, or researching and writing articles and books to help people I will never meet. I love the challenges of both types of work. As I interact with individual clients, I get ideas about policy changes that could help them achieve their goals. When I analyze policies or research and consider their potential impact, I think about the people I have worked with who will benefit. Each type of work informs and guides the other, and the different perspectives I gain along the way help me become increasingly informed, effective, and even more curious. My areas of particular interest include: K-12 education, youth behavioral health, higher education, career development, developmental psychology, and learning science. My other superpowers include: raising two wonderful sons; training a 125-pound sweet-but-willful Great Dane; and making mouth-melting cheese omelets.
