About Lori E. McMaster

As Executive Director for External Relations at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, I interface regularly with alumni, legal employers, and any external stakeholders seeking to collaborate with Pitt Law. I serve as a point of coordination for both professional development efforts and alumni affairs, to coordinate outreach and engagement with Pitt Law’s external partners. From 2011 - 2019, I served as Executive Director of Pitt Law's Professional Development Office, which oversees all career services related functions for our students and alumni. I previously served as President of the Allegheny County Bar Association, which serves nearly members by providing education, advocacy and professional services and promoting equality and diversity in the legal profession. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1986, I practiced for nearly 20 years as a trial attorney specializing in complex corporate litigation in state, federal and appellate courts in large and medium sized law firms in Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. As a licensed Pennsylvania attorney, I am familiar with the nuances of private law firm and in-house practice within Allegheny County. I graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from Allegheny College, where I was an Alden Scholar and the recipient of Departmental Honors in Political Science. My husband and I are also active in advocacy and volunteer work on behalf of children and adults with autism, and I serve on the Board of Directors of Life's Work, which offers an array of employment support services for adults with special needs.
