One professor said my work was some of the best to have ever come out of UTA School of Urban and Public Affairs. Worked with Innercity Community Development Corporation, where I did research, project planning, grant applications and marketing. I did this while completing my Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy. Neighborhood revitalization plan, inner-city Dallas neighborhood adjacent to Samuell-Grand Park through UTA – (suggested nomination for APA award by Professor Carl Grodach); My demographic analysis and recommendations for improving the Samuell-Grand neighborhood were highly praised. I became interested in real estate development and urban design during employment with Henry S. Miller Real Estate Appraisal and so returned to school to study urban planning. I supported myself through college with contract/temporary work and have since started a small business, which continues to support me while finishing my dissertation. During my study of the effects of pollution and the built environment on human health and psychology, I developed a passion for improving the environment and improving places. My background in architecture, real estate and environmental psychology helps me to utilize a holistic approach to improving human health and welfare.
