About Lori Lehman

After graduation from Southern Seminary Jr. College in 1983, with a degree in Animal Science & Horsemanship I entered into a career with horses. For several years I was employed at Pin Oak Lane Farm in New Freedom, PA owned by Dr. William Solomon. Various aspects of taking care of horses and also prepping Standardbred yearling for the sales along with general vet assisting was a learning and important experience. I worked as a race horse groom for trainer Jim McGreevey, at an off the track facility in Lineboro, MD for a short while. Growing up, my father owned thoroughbreds and I had always been involved in going to the track to watch the horses run. A more involved job came working for Fred & Jan Lehman at their Salem Hill Farm in York, PA. There again, we trained right on the farm. Mucking, grooming, and this time I got to gallop the horses. This was a wonderful job. The 90's brought change, after a divorce I was back on the path for a new job opportunity, I believe it was 1996. I began working for Dr. John P. Hurtgen at Nandi Farm, in New Freedom, PA. I had known John from my earlier days at Dr. Solomons' farm. Dr. Hurtgens' farm was a newer breeding facility where he specialized in AI, embryo transfer, stallion testing, etc. I was involved in working in many different capacities and as a lead person in the barn. 2002, I decided to start my own business, and it is Tackroom Treasures! A retail shop offering supplies for the horse & rider. We carry both New, Consignment, Western & English tack along with some local made, unique items.
