About Lori Wheat

I received my BS in Corporate Communications with a Minor in Music Business from Belmont University in May 2015. During college, I interned for two artist management companies, a public relations firm, a wardrobe stylist, and a recording artist. By having such a variety of experiences, I feel like I have a well-rounded sense of the ins-and-outs of the multiple industries. I am highly motivated, extremely organized, and passionate about continuing to learn as much as possible. I quickly received a promotion from administrative assistant to marketing coordinator at BMI, a property management firm with over 350 multi-family housing in 5 states.In the Spring of 2019, I started my own brand management and public relations firm - Her Story Branding & PR. I started Her Story to provide branding and PR services to female identifying actors in the Broadway community. I secure brand partnerships, press, and sponsored vacations for clients. In the first year, I grew the client roster from 5 women to 35 by Summer 2020. After returning to Columbia, I decided to pivot to the legal world. I am currently completing the Paralegal Certificate Program in the evenings at University of South Carolina. Currently, I am seeking a new challenge that will allow me to combine all of my various experiences and education into an exciting new position. Ideally, I would love to work on the business/marketing side of a creative organization. I am also open to administration, legal assistant, and paralegal positions.
