Background
About Loriann Nohre
Originally from Upstate NY, I was fortunate to be part of one of the best band programs in NY. My instrumental career started in the 4th grade. By 5th grade I was in all-County band and receiving Superiors in Solo and Ensemble. During high school, I was part of All-County, Area, and All-State Bands and Orchestras. Teaching came very easy to me and I started assisting classmates on concert music and solos. I received an AAs in Music from Onondaga Community College in 1992 and went on to graduate from Syracuse University with a BM in Music Education in 1995. After college, I continued teaching lessons and substituted for several of the area schools. In the fall of '95, I accepted a position teaching general music, choir, and piano lessons at a parochial school. The following year took me to Central Florida, where I taught middle school choir and band earning the highest rating the schools have ever received. I also taught master-classes on a regular basis for several of the area schools, and was a woodwind/marching instructor for one of the high schools. My lesson students were involved in All-State and all received Superiors in Solo and Ensemble including State. In 2002, due to family reasons, saw a move to Panama City, FL. While there I became involved with the Bay Wind Community Band as principal clarinetist and Band Secretary as well as a member of the Orchestra of St. Andrew's Bay and a regular substitute with the 98th Army Band of Ft. Rucker, AL. My husband's job later took us to the North Dallas area in TX. Since being here in North Dallas, I have been a member of the Frisco Community Band, currently a member of the Metropolitan Winds and have had the privilege of being a lesson teacher for Allen ISD, Frisco ISD, and Little Elm ISD. My lesson studio has expanded to over 50 students a week. Over the past several years, I have adjudicated for All-Region and Solo and Ensemble at all levels.
