About Lorie Higgins

Getting out of the box at University of Idaho since 2002! Innovative programs developed and co-developed include Ready, Set, Grow Your Business, a program for small town entrepreneurship development that is training light and networking heavy; Two Degrees Northwest: Where Art Meets the Land, an artisan trail focused on food, art & heritage that includes 13 counties in northern Idaho and southeastern Washington; and the Community Review community assessment, a redesign of long-standing intensive and broad-based community assessment programs in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. With partners in the three states we formed the Western Community Assessment Network (WeCAN) that hosts the Peer Learning Network, annual Solutions Roundtables, Community Bootcamp, WeCanBeLeaders. WeCAN also continues to support community assessment efforts in the three states and across the West. I am also part of a national team that has advanced the form and use of Ripple Effects Mapping, a story-telling-based program evaluation process of participatory, group reflection and discussion, Appreciative Inquiry, and mind mapping. I am part of REM Studio, a three person collaborative that conducts and teaches the in-depth rippling approach to REM.
