About Lorik Deliu

I am a civil engineering student at Nottingham Trent University, expected to graduate in June 2025. Since June 2023, I have been working as a placement student at Balfour Beatty plc, one of the leading infrastructure companies in the UK. I am part of the team that is delivering the HS2 project, the largest and most ambitious rail project in Europe. As a placement student, I support senior engineers and project managers in various aspects of the project's lifecycle, from design and planning to construction and implementation. I gain hands-on experience in applying civil engineering principles and techniques to solve complex challenges and create innovative solutions. I also learn from the diverse and talented professionals in the field, who share their knowledge and insights with me. I am passionate about contributing to the transformation of the UK's transport network and creating a positive impact on the environment and society. I bring a fresh and curious perspective to the team, as well as a strong work ethic and a collaborative attitude. I am eager to continue developing my skills and competencies as a civil engineer and a team player.
