Certain skills have been very useful for all of the jobs I have had. As a laboratory scientist and lab manager, recycling coordinator, administrative assistant or teacher. These skills include organization, planning and prioritizing. Every project and every work environment benefits from organization. Although it takes effort to devise a reliable system, it save time and helps avoid mistakes to be organized in both a physical sense and in procedures and thought processes. Planning ahead is crucial for smooth and efficient operation of a laboratory or office environment. Ensuring supplies are available, documents have been prepared and projects have been designed are crucial components to a more successful and less stressful experience. In a fast paced and busy world, it is important to prioritize what tasks need to be done first to make subsequent steps more efficient and which tasks can be done while other duties have been started and one is waiting for the next step. I am a person who is naturally inclined to planning and organization, but I have also trained myself over the years to maximize the effectiveness of these inclinations.
