Director of Strategic Accounts for Besse Medical, an AmerisourceBergen company. Besse Medical is one of the nation’s largest pharmaceutical distributors stocking a full line of pharmaceuticals and vaccines for physician practices (except oncology) and surgery centers across the U.S. Lorraine began with Besse in 1998 as a temporary customer service representative soon after Besse was acquired by Bergen Brunswig and became a full-time associate within two months. When AmeriSource and Bergen Brunswig merged in 2001, Besse Medical acquired a new customer base consisting of physician practices which are members of a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). She then became part of our newly formed GPO customer service team, and in 2002, moved in to the supervisory role of that department. In 2006, Lorraine accepted the position of our National Accounts Assistant reporting directly to Kevin Long, Vice President of National Accounts. With her knowledge of our national GPO partners, understanding of the GPO process, and passion for service to our customers, she was awarded promotions and now holds the title of National Accounts Manager. Lorraine is responsible for managing relationships between Besse Medical and our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) customers. Coordinating efforts between the customer and their GPO to ensure the practice(s) is accessing the pharmaceutical contract pricing of their GPO. Primary customers are hospital owned physician groups who wish to achieve consistency among their physician practices.
