About Lotta Toroi

Since graduation I’ve been working as an early education teacher and most of the time as a preschool teacher. All this time I’ve been interested in developing my skills and improving the work I do. Team work is in my opinion one of the most important tools to reach these goals. Specialist teacher’s task has offered me a great opportunity to network and cowork with teachers working in different places and situations and other pedagogical specialists. I’ve also gained experience in planning and arranging trainings for colleagues and worked in different teams creating learning materials, such as cards for planning phenomenon based learning periods, a Helsinki biennial game and a learning material for early childhood education and a material and a book (Kettu-kirja) to boost sustainable development in education in Helsinki. I’m really glad of all the opportunities I’ve been treated and I’ve gone towards during my teacher’s career. I’ve participated in many kinds of networks and gathered further education. I’ve got awarded for planning and practicing new ways of teaching and learning. I’ve talked and worked with specialists researching and developing the field of education. Working under pressure is familiar to me and I can adapt and work effortlessly in changing situations. My skills in organizing and problem solving have helped me a lot. I love good conversations and brainstorming together with coworkers and it’s even better if that leads to something new and innovative.
