About Louis Pecot

My job as a coach is to inspire athletes to become greater than what they think they can be. There are many things in society that can distract young people from achieving excellence, but with proper motivation a coach can help guide young people to realize their full potential in sports and in life. I’ve coached swimming in a recreational program for many years. I enjoy coaching at the youth level because of the enthusiasm that swimmers and parents have for the sport when they join the team. I fondly remember swimming on the swim team as a kid at the public pool with my family and friends, we had a great time. In my program, I try to recreate that same environment for the swimmers on my team today, especially for the new members. In this way, I make having fun the priority and once they are hooked on the program I can begin working on their mastery of technical skills. At the high school level I emphasize stroke technique and conditioning for endurance preparing the athletes for college level swimming and/or employment as a lifeguard.
