About Louisa Maxted
I am currently working in Communications at the Human Trafficking Foundation, a charity born from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery. HTF aims to shape policy and legislation by equipping parliamentarians and policy makers to better understand the extent and nature of human trafficking. We also aim to provide a sustained and collective voice amongst NGOs, civil society, and voluntary organisations fighting modern day slavery so that shortcomings in current policy can be identified and addressed, and identify opportunities for new and different types of intervention within the rapidly evolving landscape of human trafficking. Besides this, I am studying part-time for an MSc in Humanitarianism, Conflict and Development at the University of Bath. My areas of interest include gender approaches to the peacebuilding process, as well as gendered and racialised dimensions of neocolonialism in humanitarian aid.
