About Louise Bender

Louise Bender is a strategic HR executive with extensive experience in transforming workplace cultures, practices, and systems. As VP People & Administration at Mosaic Forest Management, Louise has been instrumental in establishing Mosaic’s people programs, co-establishing and launching its safety culture, and leading the development and implementation of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Vision and Strategy. During Louise's tenure, Mosaic has received significant recognition, including being named a Top 100 Employer in BC for three consecutive years and achieving Gold level Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. Beyond her role at Mosaic, Louise co-led the development of a national alliance focused on promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in the forest sector and remains an active member today. Louise is also deeply involved in community service, having secured in funding for Meals on Wheels through 100 Women Who Care (Calgary) and being recognized with Mosaic’s Citizen of the Year Award in 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, a Human Resource Management Certificate from the University of Calgary, is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and a Certified Myers-Briggs Facilitator. A visionary leader, Louise is dedicated to creating inclusive workplaces and advancing DEI initiatives across the forest sector.
