About Louise Brooks

I am currently working for West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as their Sustainability Officer and training to be a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner. I am very passionate about sustainable healthcare. Previously I worked in Dentistry as a Dental Nurse and Oral Health Educator working. I completed the Florence Nightingale Foundation’s Green Healthcare Leadership Programme and delivered a SusQi project to reduce single use plastics in dental procedures. This resulted in carbon, waste and cost savings. Communication and engagement play a key role in my job and I have gained leadership and management experience. I volunteer as a Health and Well-being Champion/ Mental Health First Aider in the workplace, supporting colleagues and patients through challenging situations. In my spare time I photograph wildlife and take part in citizen science projects. I volunteer for the Broads Authority (BA) in the education team, gaining nature education and practical conservation skills and volunteer for Little Ouse Headwaters Project (LOHP) carrying out reptile surveys.
