About Louise Pichette

I lead health sciences at MaRS Discovery District, a non-profit organization supporting 1200+ Canadian science and technology companies. MaRS helps startups in biotech, medtech and digital health by connecting them with investors, corporate partners, and expert advisors. Located in Toronto’s Discovery District, MaRS provides state-of-the-art lab space, industry connections, and vital access to Canada’s healthcare research ecosystem. Previously, I led MaRS Innovation Challenges which focuses on crowdsourcing solutions to complex societal issues including the opioid crisis, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and employment for people with disabilities. These Challenges have awarded over $5M in prizes in partnership with organizations including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, CIBC, and the Public Health Agency of Canada. I hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and a Master’s Degree in Management of Innovation where I was the valedictorian of my graduating class at the University of Toronto.
