About Loumera Wright

I have a wide-range of experience working in mental health: a combination of both personal and professional experiences that I believe have allowed me to develop a strong foundation in clinical counseling. As a general clerk at Daniel Jenkins Creative Learning Center, an alternative school within Charleston County School District, I was quickly tasked with using my training and implementing behavioral interventions with students that I worked with on a daily basis. I have also completed a 150-hour practicum at Charleston-Dorchester Mental Health in the Mobile Crisis clinic, as well as a 600-hour internship with Marie Carter and Associates, where we provided mental health counseling to clients who utilized services at East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO). These experiences have allowed me to work with a very diverse population in terms of demographics and diagnoses. While completing my internship I have found that I am very effective and I enjoy working with children and adolescents. Alongside my mental health experience, I have also worked as clerical support and customer service for a variety of agencies, most recently as a Benefits Administrator with Benefitfocus, this lends to my flexibility to adapt to fast-paced situations as well as learning new protocol and procedures. I hope that these skills will help highlight my ability to be an asset to your company.
