About Lourdes Portillo

With over 14 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, program management, and community advocacy, I am passionate about empowering marginalized communities and creating equitable access to justice. My career has been dedicated to fostering systemic change through innovative program development, collaborative partnerships, and the leadership development of grassroots advocates. I have a proven track record of coordinating diverse teams, and guiding individuals through complex processes to achieve impactful outcomes. My professional journey includes working closely with foster youth, survivors of gender based violence, and immigrant and multicultural communities, where I have leveraged my bilingual skills (Spanish and English) and deep cultural awareness to deliver compassionate, effective support tailored to the needs of those I serve. My expertise spans case management, data-driven decision-making, and organizational development. In previous roles, I successfully facilitated peer-to-peer learning networks, trained advocates to navigate state systems, and coordinated statewide initiatives to improve access to justice for vulnerable populations. As a natural collaborator and mentor, I thrive in environments that value innovation, inclusion, and shared learning. I am driven by a deep commitment to social and economic justice, particularly in advancing opportunities for underrepresented communities to achieve long-term stability and success. My approach blends strategic planning, technical knowledge, and a personal connection to the communities I serve, ensuring that my work has a lasting, positive impact. I welcome opportunities to connect with like-minded professionals and organizations committed to transformative change and equity for all.
