About Lu Chen

With a master's degree in robotics from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois, I have a strong academic background and a passion for autonomous vehicles and robotics areas. I am currently an Application Support Engineer at MathWorks, where I innovate in robotics, navigation, ROS and sensor simulation technology development, enhancing product functionalities. I have core competencies in Simulink, robotics fields, and simulation environment, which I apply to solve customer issues and create value for the organization. In my previous roles, I worked on various projects related to lidar optimization for AUVs, curb detection and bounding box projection techniques, and sensor placement algorithms. I collaborated with engineers from different backgrounds and domains, contributing to the advancement of robotics and autonomous systems. I value learning from diverse perspectives and experiences, and I aim to support the organization's culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration. I believe I can bring valuable skills, knowledge, and insights to the team and the company.
