About Luca Botti

Investigating. Understanding. Solving. Creating. These are the main traits that drive my passion in my professional and not professional career. I am a post-doctoral researcher in Imperial College London, here I lead 4 different projects on biomass upgrading and supervise 3 PhD students on some of these projects. I work in team of 7 people spread between London and Cardiff, and I manage the collaboration with other 2 research group in Europe. During my academic career I succeeded in producing 7 articles in high impact factor peer-reviewed journal. Most of these are the fruit of 2 important discoveries I achieved in my field. During my PhD I lead the collaboration with my industrial sponsor (Haldor Topsøe), thanks to this project I initiated important collaborations with scientistic in Denmark that still today are active and producing high-impact research. Although this brief summary it is just about research and science, I do enjoy my reading of finance and global businesses which give me a more global vision of the world problems and crises. Finally I realised I almost drew up a super-boring presentation of myself, so I will conclude on a high saying I am always in for any sort of sports (running, CrossFit, football.) and I will always look for a holiday on a snowboard or windsurf rather than on a beach-bed or in a sauna!
