About Luca Cancian

In an ever-changing world, automated systems have been gaining ground in each aspects of our life: transport, industry, communication, health care … Their expansion goes so fast that it can be terrifying sometimes but I am willing to be part of it, as I have always wanted. During secondary school, I had already made the choice to step in industrial sciences. I really enjoyed these years until the day my school decided to close the option due to a lack of students, teachers. Luckily, I have been able to adapt, and as my passion grew, it carried me through my education at IESN. Once I got a foot in the door, I fully realised I made the right choice. I am passionately studying new programming languages, electronics, physics, higher mathematics, regulation and automation. Automation is a really wide sector with lots of possibilities, rather say opportunities. Working in industries or factories, doing maintenance on production lines doesn’t really attract me. I hope to find a job mainly focussing onto innovative projects involved with the transition towards an ecological way of life like the study of thermal losses in buildings or intelligent energy consumption systems. In general, a job where I have a role to play, where I can feel that what I do is useful, with a great working atmosphere, would perfectly fit my personality. I like to take responsibilities and see tasks through to completion. It is very rewarding to get things done and it improves my self-confidence. In a staff, one of my main strengths is my ability to listen to my colleagues’ issues: quite practical when it comes, for instance, to easing tensions in a group. As a future automation expert, I would like to take a part in the development of brand-new innovations. Although I don’t have any professional experience yet and still have plenty of things to learn, I also know there is yet more to discover, more problems to solve and more to build.
