About Luca Neri

Dr. Luca Neri leads the Data Science Division in the Clinical Advanced Analytics department of the Global Medical Office of Fresenius Medical Care in the EMEA, LATAM, APAC region since 2022. The mission of his team is development of AI-based digital solutions and Sofware as Medical Devices for decision support in medicine and integrate them in clinical practice. He joined Fresenius Medical Care as medical data analyst in 2016 and lead the Advanced Analytic department for the EMEA region since 2019. Dr Neri has 15 years’ experience in epidemiology and outcomes research, and has acquired a broad range of analytical and methodological skills in the field of outcomes research and advanced analytics. Before joining Fresenius he held a post-doctoral position at the Saint Louis University Center for Outcomes Research (2006 - 2009) to be later appointed as adjunct instructor of Health Management and Policy at the same institution (until 2013). Before Joining Fresenius Medical care, he served as scientific consultant and advisory board member for several commercial, science, industry clients and academic institutions. His research interest focused on the epidemiology and outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease and other chronic medical conditions. He graduated in 2002 at the University of Milan School of Medicine; at the same academic institution, he earned both his specialty degree and a PhD degree in Environmental and Occupational Medicine in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
