Background

About Luca Patricelli

The applied engineering is my working field. I have an excellent knowledge of the thermodynamics and a good capability to understand the fluid dynamic around and inside a body. I played basketball and practiced sailing since the age of 6; these activities taught me the team spirit and the mentality to work hard to reach a goal. I always worked in companies with employees from different countries and facing with customers from the entire world; thanks to this great opportunity I learned the ability to understand to the attitude of the interlocutor and adapt my behavior to it. My roles inside the companies (especially UTC) helped me in refining my aptitude of summarizing and explaining technical results to people not technically expert, while the experience at Von Karman Institute supported my capability to argue and uphold my ideas and improve them with the contribution of the thoughts of other people around the table. Leonardo Helicopter gave me the opportunity to face against great challenges. On technical side the severe working conditions of the aeronautic applications, and the need of proven solutions (to speed up certification and qualification process) helped me in the capability of looking for solutions taking inspiration from solution already proposed in other fields. The second challenge has been the management of human and hardware resources: one of the most difficult challenges i faced with in my life. The last challenge (up to now) is the creation of a new team to develop analytical models of the systems used on board of the helicopters, with the target, in the next years, of develop digital twins of these equipment and be able to achieve the company vision of "do right the first time" Finally (and surely not the least important) I am the father of a wonderful little girl and husband of a patient wife.
