About Luca Recchia

LupMorthy is an artist, composer, teacher and mountain climber. Before focusing entirely on his music, he played electric bass for 20 years, both on tour and in the studio, with several projects of the Italian independent scene. Among the various bands he remembers in particular the collaborations with artists such as GoodMorningBoy, Songs for Ulan, Musical Buzzino and Cesare Basile, with whom he has played regularly since 2003 and won two Tenco plates. LupMorthy's music is experimental, with boundaries that blur between different genres, from electroacoustic to ambient, from minimalism to field recording. In his repertoire there are also pieces for vocal ensembles and chamber music. He teaches theory of musical languages, conducts ensemble music and carries out musical projects with children and adolescents. Since 2005 he coordinates a stable music therapy laboratory for disabled children. He graduated at the Civica Classica "Claudio Abbado" of Milan in Composition and Music Didactics and he got a diploma in Music Therapy at the Center of Artterapy of Lecco. In addition to music, the mountain, the classic rock routes in particular. The mountain has taught him to take one step at a time and, paradoxically, to keep his feet on the ground. LupMorthy is not called LupMorthy: his real name is Luca Recchia.
