About Luca Soppelsa

I believe finance can — and should — turn capital into positive change. For over 10 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of sustainability and finance, helping channel investment where it’s needed most: to drive meaningful, lasting impact in developing countries. I believe finance can evolve — becoming more inclusive, transparent, and a true driver of sustainable progress. Today, I’m part of the senior management team at FS Impact Finance, where I serve as Prokurist and Head of Risk Management. I’m also Managing Director of FS Impact Finance Caucasus, our specialized subsidiary supporting impact-driven asset managers with ESG and financial monitoring services. Since 2023, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to contribute further as a board member in the field. Before FSIF, I gained a decade of experience in green finance, audit, and banking, working on complex international projects involving public and private sector players. This mix of technical depth and hands-on execution has shaped my approach: solutions-oriented, collaborative, and always focused on outcomes. Academically, I hold two master’s degrees — in International Economics (Utrecht University) and Management (University of Trento) — and I’m a Certified Risk Manager and Renewable Energy Finance Expert. In my free time, I challenge myself through endurance sports. I’m a triathlete, and in 2023 I competed in the Ironman 140.6 World Championship — an unforgettable journey that taught me even more about commitment, pacing, and pushing through limits.
