About Lucas Broberg

I am a member of the Finance New Graduate program at Cenovus Energy, and currently work as a Crown Royalty Analyst. In this role I am gaining experience with corporate Accounting, specifically through calculating royalty payments and helping with account reconciliations and audit work. I also previously completed two student terms at Cenovus energy as a Market Risk Student and in a Downstream Planning role. These roles introduced me to the corporate environment, and gave me the opportunity to learn about risk and trading in commodity markets and the development of long range plans and forecasts. In my time at Cenovus, I have been able to refine my skills in financial analysis and reporting. I have specifically learned how to better utilize Excel, Power BI and SQL to create dashboards and to communicate data more effectively. I also refined my communication skills: working on cross-functional projects and presentations with various site and corporate teams. Through my experiences, I have developed into a strong team member with polished communication skills. I am able to gather and analyze information effectively to make effective decisions or provide insights to others. I thrive in fast-paced working environments, and am highly motivated by opportunities where I can work closely with others to continuously learn and develop new skills.
