About Lucas Johnson
I'm currently a second-year mechanical engineering student at Washington State University majoring in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on autonomous systems. Outside of classes, I'm a member of Crimson Robotics; WSU's heavyweight combat robotics team. During my time with Crimson Robotics, I've collaborated with a small team (~5 people) to design, prototype, manufacture, and compete with a 3lb combat robot. After the competition (where we placed third!) I took on the responsiblitiy of arm subteam lead for our 250lb combat robot intended for the Discovery channel show Battlebots. I'll be graduating in May 2025 and then I plan to then pursue a master's in robotics and eventually a career in the robotics industry. I've always had an interest in robotics from a young age, always wanting to learn more and even joining and leading an FRC team as president and then vice president in highschool. So I simply want to continue to feed that interest into my career by helping create robotics that make the world a better place.
