About Lucca Valerius

I have recently started my PhD as part of the joint lab Diamond Nanophotonics led by Prof. Dr. Tim Schröder at HU Berlin in collaboration with the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut gGmbH Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik Berlin. Within that context I am working on the fabrication of nanostructures in diamond for quantum applications. As a highly motivated Master's graduate in Experimental Solid State Physics, I have hands-on experience in nanofabrication, cleanroom operations, and advanced data analysis. During my Master's thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. Christoph Stampfer, I worked on quantum dots in bilayer graphene, focusing on assembling 2D heterostructures and conducting transport measurements at cryogenic temperatures. I am particularly passionate about quantum technologies, including the development of qubits and quantum networks. In addition to my technical expertise, I have experience in project management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and presenting complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences. My internship at Siemens Ruggedcom in Toronto further strengthened my communication and problem-solving skills within a global corporate environment. I am always happy to meet people in both academia and industry and to contribute to innovative and sustainable semiconductor technologies and quantum research.
