About Lucia Kucerova

I am dedicated experimental oncologist with 20+ years of experience in tumor cell biology and cellular therapies, co-author of 60+ publications cited ≥2.500-times. Based on our pioneering work published in 2007 (≥300 citations) I have written successful grant applications to secure continuous financial support for the group and published numerous publications investigating cell-based enzyme/prodrug gene therapy. I started new line of research focused on the role of the mesenchymal stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment and strategies to revert chemoresistance, which were translated into clinical study on refractory TGCT patients recently. I have deep knowledge in live-cell kinetic imaging, mammalian cell culture, genetic modification, transfection, transduction, cell-based functional assays, preclinical drug testing, molecular biology techniques and immunodeficient mouse models. I built well-coordinated research group using my management and supervisory skills as a group leader and PhD student supervisor. I am proficient in scientific writing, communication, presentation and project management. I am well-organized person with deep commitment to reach the goals in a timely manner. I took an opportunity to gain company experience working in Eurocord-Slovakia (hematopoietic stem cell expansion), Gadeta BV, NL (lentivirus productions for new TEG leads) and Glycostem Therapeutics BV, NL (genetic engineering of NK cells). I am open for any new challenges to exploit my skills and knowledge to improve cancer cure.
