About Lucy Chambers

I currently manage a Tier 3 Specialist “personality disorder” community service as part of the complex emotional relational needs pathway. We are currently developing the service to be informed by therapeutic community principles and deliver Mentalisation based treatment. I am part of a team developing the complex emotional relational needs pathway focusing on the implementation of structured clinical management. My passion and focus is to ensure individuals with these needs receive the right care and the right time and not dependent on how “risky” they are and to prevent use of out of area “specialist placements” My previous role was to operationally manage an inpatient mental health urgent care hospital for adults. I have previously worked as clinical visiting tutor supporting undergraduate students and apprentice occupational therapists I have previously led on developing and designing a strategy for Personality disorder pathway. My occupational therapy career has been in Secure including medium, low, community, prison settings; adult and CAMHS mental health since 2003. I focus on developing and delivery recovery focused services. I have previously guest lectured about this area of practice. I was previously the Chair of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Specialist section in mental health
