Background
About Lucy Everley
What I Do: I am an experienced youth worker, currently loving working within the charity sector, but with a background in teaching and tutoring. I am confidently skilled in safeguarding, trauma-informed practise, youth-driven policy and team leadership. I juggle many passions in my work! I am a: 1. Programme Facilitator in the Youth Development team at The Diana Award, building and delivering anti-bullying programmes nationally. LGBT+ Curriculum Lead and LGBT+ Sector Best Practise Lead. I balance all of this alongside my role of Trustee for the Sheena Amos Youth Trust (SAYiT), an LGBT+ Youth Charity based in Sheffield. Each of my passions are united by a love of seeing young people dismantle barriers and flourish. More About My Experience: SEND and Trauma-Informed Safeguarding I am trained and experienced in safeguarding young people, with a specialism in safeguarding and planning for SEND young people. I am also adept at evaluating safeguarding policies within an organisation, as shown by my extensive research into Trauma-Informed safeguarding, which formed the basis of my teaching degree. Theory of Change and Social Justice Work I am knowledgable around social issues and policy affecting young people, and adept at building high-quality services around the Theory of Change design model. I have nurtured this in my current role, but it began with my work with UpReach in 2019, a social mobility charity focused on young people and class. Leadership and Management Skills: My commitment to young people and social action is drives boundless ambition and creativity, which I love to use as part of a team. Increasingly, I am experienced in managing projects from the ground up, and naturally take on leadership roles within a team. I view leadership as the ability to keenly intuit the needs vs strengths of those around me, which is a skill I pride myself on. I am continuing to develop my people and project management abilities through Agile Management and Leadership training. Digital Marketing and Social Media: From my role as PR Secretary for The Feminist Society in University, to my role as Lead Executive for Tier 1 markets in a digital marketing agency, a more specialised skill I have built is that of social media management and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). During my time at iProspect, I delivered on tight SEO KPIs for discerning clients such as The Body Shop and Pandora. I built sprawling annual forecasts, requiring rigorous keyword and analytics research. I furthered this in my freelance publishing work for Lotus Sharp.
