About Lucy Ramirez

Lucy Ramirez is a clinical social worker for the Rush Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Treatment Center at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She is a licensed clinical social worker with 20+ years of experience in the field of medical social work. Her work involves performing psychosocial assessments and providing support for children and adults living with chronic and acute medical conditions. In her current position, Ms. Ramirez’s practice primarily involves counseling and educating individuals with bleeding disorders, their caregivers and family members. Ms. Ramirez received her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Education and Policy, from Northwestern University and completed a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Health Care and Social Policy at Loyola University Chicago. She currently serves on the National Hemophilia Foundation's Social Work Working Group and has also served as a presenter and moderator for patient and provider educational sessions.
