About Lucy Roeber

In November 2022, Lucy became the sole director of Erotic Review Publishing Ltd and in March 2024, the Erotic Review was relaunched as a biannual in print, a literary and art platform to explore desire with essays, reviews, fiction, poetry and art. She works in collaboration with Studio Frith to create an object of desire and co-creator, Saskia Vogel. The first issue (rrp £20) sold out within five weeks and it is now stocked in 69 shops and galleries in 15 countries. It's been on the front of the Telegraph books section, the Bookseller, the Berliner, the Creative Review, amongst others. The magazine was nominated as a design highlight of 2024 in the Guardian. The issue 2 launches and discussion sold out in London and Berlin. She is now co-curating a series of literary salons in Spring/Summer 2025. Lucy's first job after finishing her MSc in literature was at Prospect magazine as assistant editor under David Goodhart. She continued editing, book reviewing and writing while raising her three young children; she completed two historical novels and experimented with writing about pleasure in a short story called ‘Paroxysm’, published in 2006. In 2020, she was commissioned to write short stories for the online magazine, Lickerish Library and started the Erotic Book Club in 2020 with the Hearth in North London. Her non fiction is published in the TLS, The Sunday Times, the Real Review and the Guardian amongst others. As well as being a director, writer and editor, Lucy has spoken at magCulture London and literary events, she's been on Times live radio with Mariella Frostrup, Stack podcast, Monocle radio and other live streams.
