About Lucy Thomas

I am a writer and poet based in Portsmouth, UK. In July of 2022, I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with First Class Honours in Creative Writing. Throughout my time at university, I developed my writing skills, from perfecting my poetic form, to honing the art of academic essay writing. My degree presented me with multiple opportunities which I believe have helped me build upon my writing skills. I have written for Portsmouth based news website Star And Crescent, where I have written Op-Eds, reviews and interviews - In partnership with the Portsmouth Guildhall I interviewed comedians Paul Chowdhry and Ed Gamble ahead of their live-comedy tours. At the beginning of 2022, I had my debut publication in print; my poem 'Higher Power' was published in the February/March issue of prestigious literary magazine, The London Magazine. Upon finishing my studies, I have begun working for Portsmouth based comparison site, BookMyGarage.com, as a Content Writer. At BookMyGarage, we give drivers the ability to find the garage that suits their needs best - whether they want the cheapest, the closest, or the best rated. At BookMyGarage I have developed my SEO skills to the point where I am competent in SEO content writing and optimising. I am also well versed with reporting software such as Google Analytics. In the time I have been with BookMyGarage, I have taken on the roll of EV Hub Manager, where I have become the resident 'EV Expert'. I have published nearly one hundred articles surrounding electric vehicles - from advice about choosing the correct EV, to informational articles about Clean Air Zones and how EVs work. Every week I publish The Weekly Round-Up, which brings you all the most important headlines from around the world, without any of the noise.
