About Lucy Turner
I am currently the Head of Portfolio Transformation for the Faculty of Health, Science and Technology at Oxford Brookes University. My focus is on life-centered design and fostering collaboration to help shape the educational offerings for the future. With a background in interdisciplinary work, I have engaged with various fields, including art, design, and science, in my research and design practice. I believe that bringing together diverse perspectives is essential for developing relevant and innovative educational experiences.I aim to create an environment that encourages creative collaboration as we work toward more integrated and engaging programs that reflect the needs of our students and the broader community. I look forward to contributing to the ongoing development of our faculty's offerings and engaging with colleagues and students in meaningful ways to enhance our community's educational experiences.Feel free to connect or reach out to discuss ideas or potential collaborations Following my successful achievement of a SFHEA, I received HEIF funding to develop Brookes Creative with an interdisciplinary student design team. It’s aim is to provide the support and guidance to enhance students’ career confidence and freelancing development through working with our creative industry and innovation research network, local and National industry network and through engaging in interdisciplinary live projects set by industry to solve their complex problems. I have received a Brookes Teaching Fellowship for working with digital tools in the art and design studio, and worked to implement a varied range of Live Projects with industry over the last 12 years whilst course leader of the foundation art and design programme in the School of Arts. For my MA in Fashion Textiles I worked with researchers at the John Radcliffe Hospital to articulate their research into Tuberculosis and antibiotic resistance through the medium of knitted textiles in a bid to develop the synergies between Art and Science and I am now part of the Public Engagement Network of the University working with colleagues in Health and Life Sciences.
