About Lucy Wetherell

Throughout my life the people around me have described me as an ‘all-rounder’. I have always indulged in as many extracurricular activities as I can from sports to public speaking. Despite my ‘all-rounder’ attribution, I have always felt Biology has been my favourite subject. As my education developed, this has transformed into favouring healthcare and medical pathways. So, I am happy to say I have finally found my niche. My interest in the healthcare industry has also stemmed from the inspiration of those around me. Family members and friends have shown me the joy, hardships and reward their healthcare roles bring them. I have nothing but the utmost admiration for those working in these roles and want to contribute to the industry myself. First-hand witnessing family members experience the damage of neurodegenerative diseases has influenced my specific pathway interests surrounding the world of neuroscience and neurophysiology. Currently I am on a gap year after completing my second year of studies at university. I am using this opportunity to work as an Imaging Support Worker within the North Bristol Trust. From this opportunity I am hoping to gain both practical and administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
