About Ludwig Decke
An award-winning junior researcher and German Fulbright alumnus, I am currently pursuing a PhD in modern European history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have published on German, Jewish, and transatlantic intellectual and political history. I am a skilled editor, teacher, and communicator with considerable international experience after having lived and worked on three continents. I am particularly intrigued by questions regarding the place of minorities in liberal democracies. Based on my master’s thesis that explored how, during the Holocaust, scholars of the American Jewish Committee envisioned a new global postwar order, my current research turns to the role of Jews and other racialized minorities in the political reorganization of Western Europe after 1945.
