Reach me at: luis.amaro@rackspace.comI grew up around sports and it allowed me to recognize my strengths and fueling my desire to work towards a management, sales, or supervising role. I accepted a baseball scholarship to West Texas A&M University where I was able to major in marketing. Receiving a degree in business was the perfect fit for me because I knew it would allow me to work with a team once again, where I believe I excel in the most. My work ethic, leadership skills, and ability to adapt as well as lead make me very confident my abilities. Upon graduation I was approached with the decision to pursue a career in baseball or accept a job offer within my field. After considering the pros and cons, I made the decision to accept the job offer presented to me from Royal Cup Coffee. I was very fortunate to have been able to work with a great team who was very passionate and experienced in their field. Coming from a sports background, I went in very open-minded and took mental notes of everything and anything that everyone was doing in order to put myself in the best position to have the chance to grow, learn, and receive a promotion. Due to COVID-19 my tenure was cut short due to lay-offs but without a doubt I know with my next opportunity I will go in with the same exact attitude and allow myself to adapt and grow. When not working, I am a baseball coach. Giving back to the sport that taught me so much in life and allowed me to receive a college degree was something I always had in mind. I was lucky to have coaches that helped me in my life and I feel that I owe it to the sport to do the same for the next generation. I hope I can be the guidance a kid needs in order to believe he can do anything he set his mind to.I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives.
