About Luis Branco

Although my academic field was electronic engineering, I started my work experience developing software for the Portuguese Navy, mainly geared towards operational needs, focused on the maritime domain. Gicen that the Navy's core business is defence and not software development, our team was always small. This allowed me to understand and handle the full software lifecycle, from user requirements gathering to solutions deployment and quality assurance. In short, I became a full-stack developer. Later I began to lead a small team of developers, while managing several projects, both internal and external. Started to work in international projects, mainly from NATO and EDA, as well as representing the Portuguese Navy in several international forums as a technical expert on the maritime domain. I'm kind of a perfectionist, always aiming at following best practices and with great attention to details. I consider myself as highly adaptable to new situations and challenges. I enjoy travelling to other countries and experience their culture and gastronomy. I am a movie aficionado and a gamer (main genres include RPGs and puzzle games). I live with my girlfriend and daughter and our 2 cats.
