I’m Luis Fuentes, a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience leading teams and developing and executing financial and tax strategies across sectors such as consulting, banking, agribusiness, and multinational corporations. I’ve worked with leading firms and institutions including PwC, Santander, Sura, ING, Intercam, and currently serve as Head of Tax at Grupo ECOM México. In my current role, I integrate deep technical knowledge with strategic vision to preserve, protect, and enhance business value through smart, ethical, and sustainable tax management. Beyond the numbers, I believe authentic leadership is rooted in human development. My purpose is clear: to develop leaders within and beyond the teams I lead. Professionally, I’ve successfully led complex tax operations such as corporate spin-offs, where I designed and oversaw the implementation of strategic work plans, ensuring full and timely compliance with all tax obligations. I’ve also managed audits from Mexico’s Tax Administration Service (SAT), coordinating processes, delivering clear and timely information, and achieving favorable outcomes in response to the authority’s findings. Additionally, I’ve led shareholder return processes including dividend payments, capital reductions, and share transfers—always ensuring regulatory compliance and tax optimization. My approach combines technical precision with business acumen, maximizing shareholder value while minimizing tax risk.
