About Luis Hernandez

Luis is a determined and passionate fourth-year student at Arizona State University's School of Life Sciences majoring in Biological Sciences (Genetics, Cell and Developmental Biology) with a minor in Spanish. His goal is to advocate for minority groups, specifically targeted in the Latino/Hispanic and LGBTQIA+ communities, by advancing his roles in the medical field and pursuing the goal of becoming a physician. He has been involved with different communities within Arizona State University related to leadership roles involved as Secretary of the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), Student Specialist for DREAMzone, and membership in Undocumented Students for Education Equity (USEE). Further experiences have related to assisting DACA, undocumented and mixed status families in an effort to provide guidance toward higher education. Luis works in diminishing the boundaries these individuals face in an attempt to pursue their own dreams and aspirations.
