Luis Martins is the Head of Ground School at FTEJerez. Additionally, he is an EASA Independent External Expert, writing questions to the European Question Bank, and was part of the Rule Making Task 0595, which updated the ATPL Syllabus theoretical knowledge and examination procedures. He is an Aeronautical Engineer who previously worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Manager in the Dornier-Dassault Alpha Jet and SOCATA’s TB-30 Epsilon aircraft fleets for the Portuguese Air Force, while teaching part-time at several ATOs in Portugal. After 6 years living a double life, he finally decided to fully embrace his passion for teaching future pilots and moved to FTE, where he has been ever since. He has not fully shaved since 2009, before beards became cool, and he uses the time he saves not shaving every morning to reminisce about his failed career as a guitar player.
