About Luis N. Pacheco

Dr. Luis Pacheco is an Emmy Award winning Family Physician and is one of the most widely recognized doctors in the Latino community in the United States. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Pacheco has received numerous awards and recognition for his accomplishments in the medical field and the community. Academically, Dr. Pacheco has served as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine - University of Southern California (USC) and previously was the Director of Pre-Doctoral Education for the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Pacheco is known for his extensive humanitarian activities in the Latino Community through numerous fund raising events as well as through his Television and Radio work. He has served on the Board of Advisors for the Vitamin Angels, an organization that provides micronutrients to over 50 million children and women annually. On television, Dr Pacheco appeared daily as the Medical Expert for Univision’s flagship station KMEX TV Los Angeles with his daily health segment, “Ask the Doctor”. His segments have been broadcast on over 25 Univision stations throughout the United States. Dr. Pacheco has also hosted a call in radio show broadcast to over 50 markets in the US. For his work on television, Dr. Pacheco has been honored with an Emmy Award as well as a Golden Mike Award. Dr. Pacheco and his team have provided thousands of free health screening exams to high-risk groups in under served areas. He has a particular interest in reversing the Diabetes and Obesity epidemic that is devastating millions of children and families around the globe. A former collegiate and semi-pro soccer player, Dr P has coached over 20 AYSO and Club soccer teams and enjoys keeping active through cycling, swimming, walking and sampling foods from around the world.
