In my role at the Population Sciences Biorepository, I manage a wide range of responsibilities, from administrative duties to direct experimental work, ensuring the lab runs smoothly and supports ongoing scientific research. My key duties include: 1. Equipment and Supplies Management: I maintain and organize lab equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly. Additionally, I handle supply procurement, vendor communication, and tracking deliveries. Protocol and Procedure Oversight: I ensure that lab protocols are followed by both myself and the lab technicians, maintaining high-quality standards in our work. Team Coordination: As a supervisor, I assign tasks, provide guidance, and oversee the work of three lab technicians to ensure efficiency and productivity. Communication and Collaboration: I coordinate communication within the lab and with external collaborators, managing projects, protocols, and sample distribution within the TMC network and internationally. Client Interaction: I liaise with clients to manage projects, coordinate protocols, and oversee sample distribution, maintaining professional communication and ensuring client satisfaction. Financial Tracking: I assist in managing billing and invoicing using SAP or similar systems, tracking funds and helping maintain the lab’s budget. Sample Database Management: I help manage the sample database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for easy organization and retrieval of sample information. Equipment Maintenance: I coordinate the repair and upkeep of lab equipment, ensuring it remains in optimal condition for experiments and other lab functions. Complex Experiment Execution: I collaborate with Principal Investigators and the Laboratory Director to plan and execute complex experiments, troubleshooting and ensuring their success. Wet Lab Work: I process samples from various clinics and perform wet lab techniques such as DNA plating and normalization, contributing directly to lab operations.
